A strung-together clip of photos my husband, Peter, took of his students of this year's class, his 35th group of children, after being a full-time elementary school teacher for his life-mission. He prefers to think of teaching as his vocation, based on the Latin word for "calling". The unspoken conclusion is that he will never quit his vocation, that is, until his mission and so, his life, is complete and his heart full. The content of this first clip of the playlist is comprised of archival images, scanned and storybooked into a presentation for the retirement party organized for my husband, Peter just this May 25 2006, after teaching elementary grades for 35 years in one school. Peter chose a modest collection of images about himself for the retirement presentation, but I got to embellish my own version. Don't ask why all the members of his family and mine had to be included in the presentation of Peter's career as a professional teacher. Peter chose coaching only pictures including fellow coaches to ensure everybody received due honors. What he left out was an album about all the tournaments "Fatima" won, many for all of Toronto -- locals call the GTA or General Metropolitan Area, i.e, excluding satellite towns -- and several championship pennants of victories won for all Southern Ontario -- the population of which comprises a formidable chunk of all Canada's population.
